My debut album, The Minstrel, will be released on Friday, July 31st, 2026. Pre-Order the CD now!
Born to be a rock god, forced to be an iconic vocalist. Probably the most relatable song I've ever released, the concept is simple: "dang, wouldn't it be super sick if I could absolutely shred on electric guitar??" So I plug my mic into an amp, crank the distortion, and rip some stratospheric electric guitar-style vocals riffs. "Electric Guitar" is just a happy jam-fest of celebrating that I may not be a dick with a guitar in the stadium spotlight, but what I already possess is equally as badass.
"Shapeshifter" is about the fluidity and contradiction living in a human. Oriented in the middle of my upcoming genre-blurring album "The Minstrel", it's a pivotal track that blends the genres and soundscape of all the songs orbiting around it. I hope it encourages others to be unapologetically themselves, and not just the niched down curated version, but their whole story.
After thrifting a green velvet smoking jacket, I fell down a tailoring YouTube rabbit hole and stumbled upon Harlem's Gentleman Jim Tailor. I became enthralled with the story of his client "Greek Tony," a gigolo who charmed lonely wealthy women in Upper East Side cafes in the 1970s. I couldn't stop thinking about Tony, so I wrote a song with his voice. It opens, "Lady, art thou lonely?" and proceeds to sweep you off your feet and into the NYC dance scene. I never did tailor that smoking jacket.
"Good Girl" blends pro-kink celebration and post-religious sexual healing. This is the next step in my storytelling Tour De Taboos, where I reclaim my autonomy and elevate the profane, on a bed of driving dance beats and lush warm synths. It's seductive and healing, and explores the trope of goodness and femininity. I created a custom beaded corset featured in album art.
"Want To Want To" explores the inner struggle of the uniquely feminine experience of deprogramming beauty. The song begins by blaming oneself for vanity, and evolves to see the greater economic and political conspiracy of feminine beauty and thinness, becoming more confident and enraged along the way. I programmed this concept alone with synth pizzacato strings, and brought it to a local studio to track live instruments and bring the anger to life.
